About
Irene Lopez, born in 1980 in San Salvador, El Salvador, is a Swedish fiction director, documentary filmmaker and animator. She has lived most of her life in Lund and Stockholm. She studied theatre at Stockholm University in 2001-02 and animation at the School of Arts and Crafts (konstfack) 2003-05. She graduated in 2013 from SKH UNIARTS, with a BA in documentary film.
2023 she graduated with a MA in fiction direction at SKH (UNIARTS). Her research was about the ethics and truth in narrative when converting a documentary matrial into a fiction film.
She manages Cornchild Production, a film production company based in Stockholm that produces film, commercials and media content.

This film is the first film Irene Lopez made as a filmmaker. It is an experimental film and collaboration between Scenographer Moa Möller, and dancer Pontus Pettersson. The Film is exploring the boundries between film and animation. What happens to the move of dance as it suddenly becomes stop motion? What rules apply? Vika is in Swedish " Foldning". The whole film unfolds itself until the room is filled with memories from a distant past.
Archive of longing
Still photographer Hannah Modigh exhibits her collection from the Archive of longing. The portrays are taken in Klara gården 2018-2019 a day shelter and accommodation for homeless women.
The event in this film took place at Kulturhuset accompanied by the Rebekka Karijord and Andrew Yees music.

A tv- series bout a father that swaps with his kid for a whole day. Daddy goes to kindergarten and suddenly he becomes a tiny person in a gigant world.
Together with Lillasyster AB we made 9 episodes of "Pappa på förskola". We made the animations when the dad became "small".
